En bremsemotor er en type elektrisk motor med en bremseanordning som gjør at motoren kan stanse raskt og sikkert ved behov. Dette er for eksempel nyttig til løfte- og maskinutstyr der presis håndtering av lasten er avgjørende. Når strømmen til motoren brytes, aktiveres bremsen automatisk og bremser motorens rotasjon.
